Group Health Cooperative
Group Health Cooperative, founded in 1947 and based in Seattle, is a non-profit health care system providing health insurance coverage and health care services to residents of Washington and northern Idaho.
Today, about 540,000 individuals are covered by health plans offered by Group Health Cooperative or its wholly owned subsidiary, Group Health Options. More than 70 percent of these members receive care in Group Health Cooperative-owned medical facilities.
Group Health Cooperative offers one individual and family health plan. A list of doctors included in the plan is available at the company web site, and under the plan, individuals can visit Group Health specialists at medical centers owned or operated by Group Health Cooperative without a referral from their personal physician.
